My Personal Journey
Born and raised near Duesseldorf, Germany, I started my professional career in banking. Recognising my passion to care for the wellbeing of others, I embarked on becoming a Medical Doctor (MD) and then specialised as an Anaesthetist.
Since 2013 I have been working as a Senior Lecturer in medical education in Perth, Australia. As a medical doctor and lecturer, I have witnessed the power of coaching firsthand as an effective method to improve emotional wellbeing and professional performance.
Road to coaching
Observing the success of coaching encouraged me to learn more about coaching theories and gain experience with an international clientele of coaches. So here I am, a proud graduate of the International Coach Academy (ICA) and an accredited International Coaching Federation (ICF) coach with a focus on executive career development, retirement purpose and life coaching.
During my coaching journey I met some very inspiring leaders in coaching and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Margaret More aka Coach Meg whom I admire for her knowledge, skills and generosity. It has been an invaluable experience in my coaching career to learn from Meg.
International focus
As a bilingual coach based in Perth, who is fluent in German and English, I relish the international aspect of coaching. Working with individuals from all over the world including Singapore, England, Switzerland, USA, Hong Kong, Iceland and the Netherlands, to mention just a few, has allowed me to experience international diversity.
I love travelling and meeting people from all backgrounds, and find it stimulating to learn about other cultures. Having grown up in Germany, I still have a close connection with Europe. One of my favourite places to visit is Italy, particularly Florence, where I enjoy the rich history and the picturesque countryside of Tuscany. I consider myself fortunate to be able to live the Australian way of life while also being influenced by my German heritage. A morning cappuccino at the beach makes a perfect start to my day.
Recently, I had the pleasure of going on a cruise where I met passengers from all over the world. When I mentioned that I am a coach, many of them shared how much they have benefited from coaching in the past and expressed their desire to have the opportunity to experience coaching on board. Once again, this has confirmed to me that coaching has a profoundly positive impact on the lives of people around the globe.
Personal bits and pieces
As the mother of two children, I very much enjoy the opportunity to play an integral role in their upbringing and education. Seeing them achieve their goals and gain independence brings me happiness. Travelling together and exploring new places has created many beautiful memories and also makes me aware of how fast they grow up.
Both my children and my students keep me young at heart, ensuring I stay up to date with the latest trends and helping me to remain accountable for pursuing my dreams.
Creating a safe space
As an international coach, I conduct virtual coaching sessions worldwide. I thoroughly enjoy coaching online as it provides a wonderful platform for one-to-one coaching by creating a personal and safe space across multiple time zones.
